Marla Keown is an international photographer based out of Denver and specializes in photography for weddings, families, children, seniors, and boudoir. Following a tour in Iraq in 2004, Keown traveled around the globe as an official Army Reserve photojournalist. From Romania-to-Hawaii and Alaska, Keown spent her travels studying the art of photojournalism and constantly improving her skill set. After returning home, she worked for 10 years as the primary photojournalist and photo editor at the Aurora Sentinel and The Aurora Magazine.
Keown has personal experience using photography to heal. Operation: LUX SANITATEM students are often paired with Keown who instructs how to use the camera as art therapy in times of darkness.
Task Force: ISO engages and inspires Veterans through photography. Veterans gain purpose through activity and self-discovery and build community through continued mentorship and support.
